Decorating The Workplace : PART II : The Victors !!

Song of the Ocean… 3600 Artistic work hours… One Team…

Each square inch of the second floor was enriched with the Deep Ocean Effect.. The blue tinge all over added the realism to the “Under Water” experience… The Shark attacking the boat.. The wrecked ship with Jack Sparrow, the Pirate thrilled the viewers. These added more exclamations to the already dumb struck minds that took great enthusiasm to visit the realistic 3-D fishes, Octopuses, Jelly fishes floating through the Sea weeds and the planktons over the brown sea bed.

We had a ‘Sharky’ as well, but view was restricted only to the judges… We didn’t want to leave him swim near the viewers… He gets naughty at times… Angry too…

The presentations gave out Sparks to the viewers to think things for the good… The Behind the Scene video prepared by the artistic minds with humble heart emitted the Hard Team Work put up by the folks…

Finally the time arrived when the prize got announced! I held my breath for about an hour after which the final result was announced. Heart beat like it never did before… The Scream was heard from all around.. We knew that we will make it.. And finally the winners name was uttered… We made it the third consecutive time… We won the first prize.. !! It just gave in a small fire speck to the crackers that were desperately ready to burst out to enjoy the happiness they are to experience in the next couple of minutes… It ended me up with tiredness and thirst, on my desk that was decorated with sea weeds.. Small ‘Nemos’.. and Rock paper.. and hiding beneath it was my desktop which I uncovered to Blog my experience.…

The Prize was announced and there rose a bunch of Folks who were seated at the back seats.. It was my team.. It made me also to jump off the seat I occupied… I need to make the most of the happiness out of the next couple of minutes in my life.. I dashed towards the trophy on the stage.. Gripped my hands to it… Screamed…. Howled…. Shouted… gave out success signs… Posed for photos... Grabbed the trophy and kissed it… Danced… Ran all over the four floors… made train formations with my team members… Clapped like hell…. Danced again… Shook hands with all…. I put in all the energy I had out of me… I got tired and drank lots of water out of thirst… And to the final destination.. My Seat !

As it was said in one of the Oscar nominated movie…

“This part of my life... This small part of my Life, is called Happiness”

Jersey No: 23

I turned 23 today... A new jersey for the next 1 yr.. Jersey Number 23!

9 months in my mothers womb, 1.5 years of corporate! break through by mom.. 2 years in nursery, 2 years in kindergarten, 7 years in LP, 3 in HS, 2 in Plus two, 4 in Graduation, 1.5 Years at work... and counting....

Calls rushed into my cell phone like it never did before at the stroke of the midnight... Birthday wishes.. It was great when I cut my first birthday cake probably the first one ever after my first B'day celebration.. [ Still wondering when they got the gap to buy it.. as I was with them the whole day.. ].. It feels great to be a birthday baby...

But is it me who should be wished or the mom who gave birth to her first baby boy on this day ?? Who struggled to push me up to the heights I felt and am feeling right now... The Question perhaps could be the one, no one ever thought to think!

Decorating the Workplace : PART I

I was listening to music at my desk when I heard a noise from behind... I heard it a few times but ignored it until I saw others waving hands towards me… I pulled my earphones out and turned my chair towards the source of the sound… It was my Manager... I responded hastily with a “oops sorry” in my mouth.

He gave me a “come on” signal with his hands and his eyes were pointing to Pound, the discussion room. [In the office building rooms are named based on Currencies].

I saw a few other folks locking their desktops and heading towards Pound. For sure I knew its totally unofficial.. They never call me for an official meeting like tat…

Every one were IN. By that time everyone knew what the whole meeting was for!

“DECORATING THE WORK PLACE !!!!”

A floor wise competition, where the associates decorated their work place based on a theme. This was just to start off the Festive season ahead: The Christmas and the New Year.

All were seated. I preferred to stand [ cos ther was no chair to sit ], My manager came in and he knew the suspense was out.

For the next few minutes we stormed our brains to come into a common conclusion regarding the THEME that should be portrayed. Last time, we were awarded for the best theme put up “Global Warming”.

I still remember the Sweat I shed, preparing paintings, drawings and those spent on decorating the walls of my office floor, which I was familiar for less than 3 months... I had a tough decisions to make on those days… whether to choose project work or decoration work.. My mentor used to call me on phone and ask me to concentrate on production issues than these crap…

But I liked these CRAPS.. It reminds me of my college days when we stay late during pre programme nights.. to decorate the stage and the campus, to give all the guys n gals a big surprise the next day when they stepped into the campus.. It had in it, the thrill, those unexplainable richness in it.. as we all were doing together things that gave us happiness and a success feeling that is not possible to express with words.. Those days were gone in the foggy midst of time that had past…..

Though the pain I put in the last time gave me more pain ( reasons not to be disclosed, but well that happens at times )

Now I am looking forward to deliver my best in the upcoming competition…

By the time all these thoughts flashed through my mind, we were out with our final THEME! But not to be disclosed to anyone other than those who were present in Pound.. My manager cleared the white board where we penned our ideas so that the ideas doesn’t leak…

Meanwhile someone gave an idea to write some vague topics on the white board so as to mislead and confuse people from the other floors, who might come for some meeting to Pound and get a chance to see these ‘Camouflage Topics’ that has secured the invisible and invincible ideas penned by storming our already stormed brains… [ and the worse part is that, this idea was given by me ;-) ]

22 Years, 11 months, 23 days, 31mins and a few seconds...

Time.. It has been running like a hungry leopard, It has been the same, since my first deep breathe... Sometimes It moved slowly towards me.. calm n cunning.. Sometimes it blew hurricane fast... never giving a chance to sense hidden danger... I never know what would happen the next moment.. But I am not afraid of the future.. but the past..

The past and The brooder me.. I have been trying to kill the brooder me in me... but I cant help.. Life... the OOPS program... It has been throwing errors all the time I tried to compile it... How can I RUN then ?????? OOPS Why did I do that... OOPS I would have done it this way rather than that.. OOPS I should have invested more time... OOPS OOPS OOPS OOPS... Crying over past errors...

fed up!

Its time to rise...

The Great Graphite Dream should not sink in tonights Thunderstorm and the ones yet to come... I have a few ideas.. Need to sell it.. Sell it to myself! Im ready to buy it... It just cost a few extra hours...!!!

Chicken Soup! Ooops Chicken Curry...

As a remedy to the health problems that attacked us on having food from hotels at chennai.. We decided to cook at home... TODAYS SPL: Kerala rice and Chicken curry! yummy... Too many cooks spoil the broth... But we were only 3 ! So things went on fine with minimum issues... half of the rice got wasted... a few chicken pieces were over burnt and had taste of smoke... Keeping apart these negligible mistakes We had a great lunch nd was the best one since my last visit to hOMe Shanti hOMe at my native....

Cooking Chicken at home was a RISKY OPERATION! The other tenants in the apartment seemed to be Tamil Brahmins*.

NB: Tamil Brahmins are those species of humans who go amok when they see a dressed chicken in a bowl!

It would have been a controversial cooking if our apartment secretary would have smelled our secret mission. We showed our expertise like the ISI agents! and had a heavy lunch with out any worry of protests or Anti Chicken movement by our dear neighbors...

Before I wrap up my post for today, I pay my Homage to those Chicken souls involved in todays lunch! and pray for a good stomach for the days to come... ;-)

Let me Sharpen the Graphite tip...

It gives me immense happiness when I start my drawing with a fresh sharpened pencil. The Sharp tip gives me great confidence and lits a bright light somewhere inside my brain and provides an acid free white sheet of paper in mind.

So I thought of sharpening the blunt graphite tip before I start my work.

Well a short intro.... While being to any stage performance I always try to be the last one to enter the stage.. Could be a superstition but it had helped me always and led me to victory. This time I start my blog on the last month of an ever perfect year 2007.

Actually I was fed up talking to myself.. You can very well guess how odd it would have looked.. So thought of including a third listener... So now we have me.. myself and you..

So you just watch.. While I pencil my thoughts... oops sorry while I 'e-pencil' my thoughts...
